Hey! I'm Srivathsan. I write software that helps businesses run smarter and users work better.

Srivathsan Angiya

Here's a bit more detail...

I’ve always been drawn to the full spectrum of how software works — not just building it, but understanding it from the ground up. I began in QA, which sharpened my attention to detail and taught me to think like an end user. That phase gave me a foundational appreciation for usability, edge cases, and system behavior under real-world conditions. Moving into software development, I gained the tools to create systems rather than just examine them — writing clean, efficient code, designing interfaces, and collaborating across teams to build full-featured applications that solve real problems.

Lately, I’ve been diving deep into data — especially around observability and monitoring. That curiosity led me to Splunk. I was intrigued by how raw logs and machine data could tell rich operational stories. I started exploring on my own, earned the Splunk Core Certified Power User certification, and built projects that simulate production use cases — from detecting CPU anomalies to visualizing access logs. It feels like a natural evolution of my journey so far: from spotting issues, to building solutions, to now understanding and interpreting systems at scale.

Some of my projects

Splunk-Based Projects

  • System Security & Operational Insights — Built dashboards on simulated Linux syslogs to detect brute-force logins, CPU anomalies, and auth events. (Splunk, SPL, Python, Regex, Lookups, Dashboards)
  • Admin Panel Monitoring & Web Access Insights — Visualized admin/API behavior using Apache logs, detecting latency spikes and suspicious usage. (Splunk, SPL, Apache log format, Regex, Python)
  • Production-Grade Splunk Deployment Simulation – In Progress — Simulates a real-world Splunk setup: forwarders, HEC, RBAC, synthetic logs, and AWS integration. (Splunk Enterprise Trial, Python, Windows + Ubuntu, AWS - planned)

Web Development Projects

  • CodeNetwork — MERN stack platform for resume and portfolio building with user login, profile, and social links.
  • Restaurant Online Presence — Static site built for a local restaurant showcasing food, services, and affordability.
  • PIG (Dice Game) — Fun 2-player game using dice rolls and conditional scoring, built in vanilla JavaScript.

Places I've worked at

    • Tech Stack: JavaScript, ReactJS, NodeJS, SQL, HTML/CSS, ExtendScript, Git
  • At Amazon

I had the opportunity to contribute to Alexa's quality and reliability before it reached millions of households. My role gave me early access to unreleased IoT devices, hands-on validation responsibilities, and a front-row seat to emerging smart technologies. I also collaborated with internal dev teams to redesign the Timesheet App UI and built interactive dashboards using Chart.js and CanvasJS — enabling the Inventory Management Team to extract insights and act on operational data 50% faster.

    • Redesigned Timesheet App UI — boosted satisfaction by 20%
    • Built operational dashboards using Chart.js and CanvasJS — improved analysis by 50%
    • Saved 300 hours/year per tester by optimizing test strategy
    • Validated Alexa + IoT integration across 10+ device types — reduced bugs by 25%
    • Managed OTA update testing using ADB on Android-based devices
    • Created reports that enhanced release-readiness and QA efficiency
